Why Betting on Flat Racing is Better Than Betting On jump
Horse racing has three types of races, Flat, National Hunt, and Harness racing; the former two are the more popular types of horse racing when Harness racing is less popular and usually takes place in Australian horse racing. All three types allow

when each type has its own features and characteristics which affect the way horse racing players go about betting on a specific type of horse racing.
The Different Types of Racing
Flat Racing
– Held in the
UK horse courses
as well as in the US and Australian horse courses.Takes place on dirt, turf and polytrack straight or oval racetracks. In this type racing, a group of horses competes over distances varying from 5 furlong and up to 2 miles run and is usually a test of agility and speed rather than a test of stamina.
National Hunt Racing
– Derives its name from old hunting expeditions where horses were used as a mean to chase and hunt down foxes and other wildlife animals. Since the hunting grounds featured many type of obstacles, horses were trained to jump over hurdles and fences in order to allow them to cope with the obstacles in the field and help to hunters avoid losing track of the animals. National Hunt Racing is conducted in the winter, when the ground is sort enough to allow the horses safely jump over hurdles and fences, minimizing the chances of injury due to rough ground conditions. National Hunt is a test of stamina and physical shape, usually conducted over distances which never fall from 1 mile. Horses must present the ability to withstand long distances of running and jumping.
Harness Racing
– A type of horse racing in which the jockey (referred to as rider in Harness racing) sits inside a harness which is strapped to a racing horse. This type of horse racing is very much different than the former two as it presents two ways in which the horses run the race. One is trotting which is a two beat diagonal gait of the horse where the diagonal pairs of legs move forward at the same time, and the other is a lateral two-beat gait where two legs on the same side of the horse move forward together. Winning Harness racing depends very much on the jockey’s ability to lead the horse to the finish line while maintaining perfect trot or pace when the last part of the race is where riders extract the full abilities out of the horse.
Why Betting on Flat is Better
Harness and National Hunt racing are less competitive than Flat as it is usually obvious which are the leading contenders. This means that the odds given on horses which have a better chance of winning the race are usually low and will raise little profit for the

bettors. Also, in National Hunt, horses often fail to jump properly resulting in a fall or an unseated rider which means losing the race. A bettor that placed a bet over a horse that fell or had its jockey fallen off his back, loses the stakes on the bet. Same goes for Harness, where horses sometimes fail to coordinate with the harness movements, created a rocky sensation for the rider and often fall or have their harness detached. In Flat racing however, horse seldom fall or have their jockeys unseated. Horses get pulled up in case they fail to cope with the race, however not very often that a horse is being pulled up. Flat racing is much more competitive than National or Harness as many horses in the race are equal in their abilities and the outcome of the race is usually determined by one or two factors, such as a good break in the stalls or a complimenting position in the draw, which is where the horse is positioned in relation to the inner and outer rail. And so the odds given on horses are higher when horses are often overpriced, as the public and bookmakers do not hold faith in particular horses but bettors who spot the overpriced can bet on and often have their bets successfully conducted, raising a handsome profit of the payout. But the factor that makes betting on Flat racing worthwhile is the fact the solving Flat racecards is much easier than solving National Hunt or Harness racecards, which makes it easier for the bettors to nail a bet.
