Trial of man tied to fatal N.C. 49 crash will begin Monday (charlotteobserver)
(By Gary L. Wright, gwright@charlotteobserver.com) Tyler Stasko, charged with
murder in connection with the deaths of a mother and her 2-year-old daughter
and a teenager in a high-speed wreck along N.C. 49 in 2009, is scheduled to go
on trial Monday.
Stasko, 23, and Carlene Atkinson, 47, are accused of racing at speeds of up to
100 mph when Stasko's Mitsubishi Eclipse smashed into a Mercedes that was
entering the highway from the RiverPointe neighborhood near Lake Wylie.
